Close Up has a long history of bi-partisan support from Congress. Students who complete our program are awarded a Certificate of Achievement signed by Congressional leaders of the House of Representatives and Senate. Every year, we schedule more than 1,200 meetings between our participants and their Members of Congress and their staffs during our program’s Capitol Hill Day. Each meeting gives students the opportunity to interact with elected officials and their staffs about the key issues facing the nation. Students and teachers also experience their government in action first-hand by attending committee hearings and legislative sessions.
