DC & PHILADELPHIA MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAM
Close Up’s Washington/Philadelphia program option gives teachers and students the opportunity to not only experience 4 action-packed days in the nation’s capital on our flagship Capital Experience Middle School Program, but to also spend a day exploring history-rich Philadelphia! Just a couple of hours from DC, Philadelphia has more to offer than its famous cheesesteaks. Much of America’s early history took place at Philadelphia’s well known historic sites such as Independence Hall, the Betsy Ross House, and Carpenter’s Hall – the site of the First Continental Congress!
Led by Close Up’s highly-trained instructors, students will not only explore those exciting landmarks, but also take some time to visit the interactive National Constitution Center and Philadelphia’s most famous attraction – the Liberty Bell! Activities at each site keep students engaged and interested as they connect these famous sites with what they have learned in their classrooms back home. Experiencing the history of Philadelphia first-hand gives students a visual understanding of the turbulent events that surrounded the Revolutionary period and America's first years as a new nation.
Like our other Middle School Programs, our DC and Philadelphia option is available year-round. Contact us for more details.
